I have been so excited to share the joy of creating together with friends and family in recent days! In preparation for my daughter's baby shower, we made bookmarks for the guests' gift bags and sample onesies for the activity! A portion of the shower was in truth a Creative Cottage gathering as everyone created their own onesie for the baby as we joyously anticipated his arrival! At a more recent gathering, small paintings were created using a variety of mediums (watercolors, acrylics, Posca pens) that became display pieces and cards for the holidays!

Guests at my Creative Cottage gatherings so far have created beautiful bookmarks using blank bookmarks, stencils, and watercolor paints (supplies found on Amazon!) or made mono prints using Gelli plates. We have a wonderful time sharing and being creative together, including a short devotion and prayer! I always share the vision of Creative Cottage with my guests and one of the ladies hosted her own gathering with a different set of friends a few days later! Our gatherings have been great!

I was excited about Kathy's Creative Cottage gathering, so I hosted one with my neighbors at our lake house the following week! It was a wonderful way to get to know new friends! Now, I am hosting Creative Cottage gatherings weekly preparing for Thanksgiving! At one gathering, while the men were outside working and barbecuing, we made napkin tags and napkins for our Thanksgiving table sharing together about giving thanks in all circumstances. (Thessalonians 5:16-18) More recently we made a runner for the dinner table and decorative pumpkins using vintage sheets and burlap. Our devotional time was from Matthew 9, Mark 5, and Luke 8 where a woman was instantly healed by touching the hem of Jesus's garment! Jesus told the woman, "Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well!"

During a recent visit to Oklahoma, friends who usually gather for Bunco and fellowship as part of a women's ministry outreach decided instead to bring old jewelry and creative supplies to the meeting instead! With tables spread throughout the house and spilling over into the garage, we shared supplies, sang songs, made beautiful creations and had a whole lot of fun! Now we are searching for creative ideas for our next meeting!
